Whatever conditions are rendering your life burdensome, you may pass out of and beyond them by developing and utilizing within you the transforming power of self- purification and self- conquest.
Before the divine radiance of a pure heart all darkness vanishes and all clouds melt away, and he who has conquered self has conquered the universe.
He who sets his foot firmly upon the path of self- conquest, who walks, aided by the staff of faith, the highway of self- sacrifice, will assuredly achieve the highest prosperity, and will reap abounding and enduring joy and bliss.
(From James Allen’s “Morning and Evening Thoughts”)
I heard a man named Richard G. Scott tell his story of being sick constantly. He worked in a nuclear facility so he had the doctors check him for some sort of contamination. That all proved negative. Then, not having found any physical abnormalities after numerous medical test, he came to the conclusion that it was stress.
He sat down at his kitchen table and begin making an extensive list of all of the issues in his life that he thought might be contributing to this stress causing condition. He took a pair of scissors and cut each item off the list and put them in three stacks.
The first stack consisted of things that he had absolutely no control over. That stack he symbolically tossed in the garbage can. The second stack was things that he had total control of and took care of those items immediately and thus removed those stresses from his life. The third stack were things that were kind of in the middle.
The result was an elimination of about two-thirds of the stress that he formerly allowed to impact his health. Although not completely cleansed of his stress, the resulting relief had a profoundly positive effect on his life.
He detoxified his mind to the most effective level possible and resumed a most amazing life thereafter.
Have a Great Day.
